Fourth Year | Human Biology and Society, B.S. Major | Torrance, CA

CMLA has provided me with much needed guidance and support! The presentations and pre-health opportunities have been very insightful, and everyone is extremely friendly. Being able to work alongside other goal-aligned and motivated students has made me push myself more and take advantage of all opportunities presented my way. I hope to meet and help more great people in the future! 😉

Alyssa Ly

Third Year | Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics Major | San Jose, CA

Though I’m not sure of my exact future plans yet, joining CMLA has been an amazing experience because it has allowed me to better understand the health field. I really love the welcoming environment and I am excited to be able to explore my interests with other members of CMLA!

General Meeting (GM) Coordinators

Young Kim

Fourth Year | Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology Major and Global Health Minor | Boston, MA

Other position(s): Volunteer Chair!

I joined in CMLA simply because I was interested in a volunteering club about community medicine. But CMLA’s a great place for support and for your semiweekly dosage of friendliness! It’s a great experience, hearing about your peer’s goals and how we plan to tread through these tentative times together. I hope CMLA serves as a similar place to its new members. After UCLA, I hope to practice medicine as a physician and continue serving urban houseless populations.

Myles O’Leary

Second Year | Physiological Science Major | Denver, CO

Hi! My name is Myles and I’m from Denver Colorado. I love watching football (Go Vikings), and basketball (Go Nuggets), playing video games, and spending time with my dogs. I joined CMLA because I believed in their mission statement and I think it’s important to make a wide, positive impact through medicine. Go Bruins!

Chris Chae

Fourth Year | Psychobiology Major | Irvine, CA

I joined CMLA because I wanted to join a community of pre-health students that are good people and who help others in need.

Public Relations

Amber Esqueda

Fourth Year | Human Biology and Society, B.S. Major and Spanish Minor | Orange County, CA

CMLA has been one of the best clubs I’ve joined at UCLA because of its inclusive and super supporting environment. Aside from CMLA, I am also involved in Teens for Screens, AIM, AMWA, Campmed, and the REACH Lab! As a board member, I hope to continue to provide members with helpful resources and to be someone they can reach out to and rely on. I can’t wait to meet everyone!

Audrey Wong

Second Year | Psychobiology Major | Monterey Park, CA

I am the oldest sibling in a family of five, and my hobbies include reading, baking, listening to music, and golfing! As an aspiring surgeon, I first joined CMLA because I wanted to contribute to an organization that aims to provide pre-meds and pre-health students with the opportunity to give back to their community. However, what truly prompted me to really commit to this club was the support and comfort that I felt when I attended the club socials. Every member in this club is exceptionally amiable and approachable, which has made my experience in CMLA very memorable. I’m excited to make many more memories with this amazing group of students!

Victoria Lu

Second Year | Psychobiology Major | Seattle, WA

I joined CMLA as a freshman hoping to meet and connect with other pre-health students, as well as continue my efforts in promoting health equity for the underserved. I loved working in such a welcoming, supportive environment, and really aligned with this club’s strong focus on community service. In the future, I hope to attend med school and specialize in cardiology! :))

Fund/Finance Chairs

Operations Officers

Christine Ma

Fourth Year | Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology Major | Bay Area

I joined CMLA to meet other pre-health students but I stayed for the supportive community. As a member, I learned a lot from the workshops and some good friends through CMLA. I love the club’s duality in how it not only focuses on the community but also on bringing up its own members.

Abby Kim

Fourth Year | Physiological Sciences Major and Global Health Minor | Fullerton, CA

CMLA’s friendly environment is so welcoming and their mission of community service and mentorship really stood out to me. CMLA offers so many resources and information that has helped me with my pre-med journey and I hope to work alongside fellow members in furthering access to community medicine.

Volunteer Coordinators

Emma Richards

Third Year | Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics Major | Hanover, MA (near Boston)

With my goal of pursuing a career in medicine, CMLA has been a club that has allowed me to explore my interests and different possible pathways in the field. The workshops within the club have helped me figure out how to pursue medical school with the many opportunities provided, while also building my resume. I have also gained many friends and mentors within this extremely welcoming environment!

Jonathan Haimowitz

Fourth Year | Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology Major | Newark, DE

I joined CMLA to meet other pre-med students, to help underserved communities and to find volunteer opportunities. I plan to apply to medical school next year, and I’m especially interested in radiology and pediatrics.

Podcast Chair

Karen Huynh

Fourth Year | Physiological Science Major | San Diego, CA

Other position(s): Publicity Chair!

I joined CMLA because I attended many health related volunteer events in high school and I wanted to continue that in college. I am currently on the Pre-PA track and I hope to attend PA school after graduating. In my free time, I love painting and making stickers!
