welcome to CMLA!

Our Mission

Community Service, Mentorship, Leadership

Community Medicine in Los Angeles (CMLA) is an undergraduate organization at UCLA that strives to learn about and further discuss the current healthcare community in our community, especially as it pertains to the underserved minority population. We do this by organizing, volunteering for, and getting involved in health fairs, screenings, and outreach events in the greater LA area. In addition, we support our members interested in careers in the healthcare field by helping them develop leadership skills needed for graduate and professional school. Our organizations creates a tight knit group that provides academic and social support for students in the pre-health track.

Pre-health and Leadership Opportunities! 🩺

Members gain valuable experience from the many pre-health opportunities and services provided by the club. Activities include resume workshops, listening to professionals, and volunteering at health fairs. In addition, members have the opportunity to work alongside board members and develop essential leadership skills in the process!

Socials and Lasting Friendships! 👏

CMLA fosters a tight-knit community of students that share similar goals and aspirations. Many socials are held which allow students to connect with other members in the club. We hope to see you at our Westwood outings, picnics or game nights!

“I like that CMLA’s mission involves both community service and mentorship for pre-health students. I love that so many of our volunteer events allow us to interact with such a diverse community. There’s a friendly, welcoming environment in the club and you get to know some amazing people with the same goals and interests as you.”

Diviya Khullar, 2020-2022 Co-Director
